Additionally, Rehab Options Provider Services will engage in regular communication with all health professionals involved in the worker's care to ensure that they are aware of the worker's recovery plan and that it aligns with their medical treatment.
Rehab Options will ensure effective and co-ordinated communication with stakeholders is maintained throughout the workplace rehabilitation process by conducted regular and detailed case conferencing to achieve the best available outcomes. Ultimately, our goal as a workplace rehabilitation provider is to create a collaborative environment that fosters open and effective communication. By doing so, Rehab Options can support injured workers to return to work safely and successfully and help to reduce the physical, emotional and financial impact of workplace injuries and illnesses.
Service Delivery Model - Person-Centred Service Delivery
Rehab Options Provider Services (Rehab Options) will use a range of strategies to ensure that a worker's choices, background, and social and environmental factors are taken into account when providing workplace rehabilitation services.
In seeking to understand the worker's background, even before providing services, Rehab Options will make sure it understands the worker's personal circumstances, including their cultural, social, and economic background, as well as any previous experiences or challenges that may impact upon their recovery.
Rehab Options will involve the worker in the rehabilitation process and encourage them to participate in setting goals and developing a treatment plan. This will ensure that the worker's preferences and priorities are taken into account.
Rehab Options acknowledges that a person-centred approach focuses on the individual worker and their unique needs, rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach. Rehab Options will tailor its services to the worker's specific needs and preferences.
At the same time, Rehab Options is aware of the need to understand and sensitively address any unhelpful or misguided preconceptions of the workers compensation process which may exist from either the worker's perspective or within the worker's immediate circle of support and influence. Adroitly managing expectations is a key aspect of engagement with all stakeholders and this is especially the case with the person at the heart of the exercise, the injured worker.
Rehab Options will encourage the worker's active participation in their own recovery journey by providing them with appropriate education and resources to help them understand their injury or illness and how to recover from it, or otherwise best manage it moving forward.
Rehab Options will take into account all relevant social or environmental factors that may impact upon the worker's recovery. This might include working with the worker and the employer to address any issues related to job satisfaction or working conditions.
Fundamentally, Rehab Options understands that building a relationship of trust between the provider, the worker and the employer is key to ensuring that the worker's needs are taken into account and that they feel comfortable sharing their concerns and preferences.
Service Delivery Model - Return to Work Planning Requirements
Rehab Options Provider Services (Rehab Options) considers the key elements of planning a successful return to work for an injured worker using SMART goals would include:
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Relevant
- Time-bound
In conclusion, Rehab Options will use SMART goals when planning a return to work for an injured worker to ensure that the return to work plan is clear to all parties, meets the needs of the worker and will increase the worker's chances of a successful return to work.
Collaboration
As noted above, Rehab Options considers effective and co-ordinated communication with, and collaboration between, stakeholders is essential in the return to work process for the key reason that injured workers deserve the best efforts of those engaged in the process to assist them to achieve optimal outcomes.
Rehab Options will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to improve co-ordination between the worker (and their family or other support persons), their healthcare providers, the employer and the Scheme Agent to ensure that everyone understands and works together towards the same goals.
Rehab Options considers that by including all relevant stakeholders in the planning and implementation of the return to work plan, everyone involved gains a better understanding of the worker's needs, their injury and the support required to facilitate their return to work.
